I’ve been an artist all my life. My mom has drawings I did before I can even remember doing them--an elephant with six legs, a train overpass, my own cartoon characters. It never occurred to me to wonder what I was going to “be” when I grew up. I was an artist. The struggle has been finding a way to do it. My only formal training was four years of high school art, and I was blessed to have a great teacher, Don Hilton, who has also been a mentor and friend all these years. The journey has been exhilarating, painful, confusing, joyous, inspiring, depressing and always difficult. But it’s never been boring.
